biggest literati
Hi good people of IBC,
A week ago a friend of mine sent me text message giving away some of his last trees, and without hesitation i sent my crew right away to pick up some trees even at night... for a very low cost, this is now my biggest literati material, got it for $30.
the base...
the trunk...
to give you the scale of this new "toy" its me standing at 5' 9" in ht...after a couple bottles of beer.
We worked til 9pm arranging the nursery to accommodate the new big guys.
As payback (plus OT pay of course) for my ever hardworking and harden drinker guys...free beer, stewed goat, grilled fish and Karaoke 'til sunday morning.
regards,
jun

Jun,
Great material you have there... It is also interesting to think what you might do with it... Keeping fingers crossed for now. Do share pics once you give it your styling touch...
And by the way, a very impressive band of people you have got having the dinner and free beer. And since you did not mention sharing the "MATADOR BRANDY" with them I presume you are keeping it all for yourself

the "matador brandy" is for the heavy drinker guys who doesn't get drunk with beers.

Misfit,
thanks!
yeah, US $30.oo including the huge pot and soil.
Can't find that price anywhere else for a tree like this...even here. that's why I didn't hesitate to send my truck to pick it up.

These new toys of yours are amazing, Jun! Congratulations!
You had mentioned a similar case in the past if I am correct..., or I cannot remember right?
Is this the same guy?
This friend of yours is a collector? A merchant? A yamadori hunter?.... if I may ask this question.jun wrote:... ... a friend of mine sent me text message giving away some of his last trees, ... ...

You are right Alexandra. it is the same Guy...needs more space for his fighting cocks/chicken.the tree above is not in its full health strength because of neglect...see some moss growing on the trunk? but it can easily recover with proper love and care.

Hi Jun,
Lucky you! Having friends with sudden disinterest in mature Grand Daddy trees and MOOLAH!!!
Show the other trees and let us know when you are likely to run short of space for the aviary planned. (I see
A bird cage up there!)
Regards,
Mohan.

Take it easy guys! I have posted too many trees already since I (re) joined IBC,,,don't want to get in trouble again posting too many trees..hehehe.
Mohan,
I removed the birds from the cage temporarily due to logistic reasons. no body's gonna feed the poor birds early in the morning.

Re: biggest literati
Jun, what part of the Philippines are you located in? My wife is from Gingoog City, in Misamis Oriental. We grow a lot of bougainvillea and other tropical bonsais here because they remind her of home.

big murraya P.-"the flame"
Hi guys. here is the other tree.
The huge murraya P.
with multiple trunks like a flame...
Note and disclaimer: the other trees in the background and foreground are not mine...photos were taken several months ago.
when the time is right I'll reduce the height of this tree to just a couple of inches above 1 meter.
regards,
jun

Re: biggest literati
Hi Jun,
Will you be able to increase the vigor of the large literati in the current pot? Or, will you grow it in a larger pot? By the way, awesome score, dude!
Best, Todd

Re: biggest literati
thanks Todd.
It just needs lot of sunshine and fertilizer.
at this current stage it is not advisable to do something beneath the soil, this specie is so sensitive specially the roots.
