No shohin discussion
I just joined and was a little disapointed there is no shohin topic post spots. I just a beautiful gmelina bonsai for Christmas and was searching for info and came across your site that way. I grow a dozen or so shohin tropical bonsai over the winter in a light garden. I am quite exicted about my new 6" tree with a 3"nebari and is my first Gmelina.
I have been into bonsai since 1992.
My first teacher was Pauline Muth who lived near by. I have been fomally trained in shohin techniqes by David Goscinski.

Shohin are bonsai. Therefore, the bonsai section is the appropriate venue. Questions about shohin go to the Bonsai Questions section.
I grow mostly shohin (or smaller) bonsai and that works fine for me. Say hi from me to Pauline when you see her next.

IBC has its own little search engine near the top of the page. Search on shohin & you will find plenty. You may even find something on Gmelina.
Are you still in upstate NY? We have lively doings all across the state. Bill Valavanis is having a big shohin bonsai confab in June.
What kind of lights & setup do you have? I also grow tropicals under lights. A lifesaving necessity with six feet of snow outside.
