360 Bonsai
I thought some might find this interesting. I had been shown a link to AUSBONSAI , the Australian Forum where they have an amazing 360 degree section to show off their trees. This was discussed on the Wee Trees forum and I managed to get advice and assistance in setting this up.
Here is one of the 360 bonsai.
For more either visit Ausbonsai 360 or NIBS 360 Bonsai

Wish it wasn't so time consuming and technical to set up. That is one excellent Beech Ian.

I love this concept Ian. Unlike a video clip, this gives the viewer ownership of what he/she wants to look at.

Re: 360 Bonsai
Thanks Guys, only wish the tree was mine. I just took advantage of it being at my house after our recent display.
Kev, I'm no techie, but I reckon about 30 minutes to take the photos and about 15 to set up the sequence. My photos could be a lot better but a new camera is on my wish list. Someone else did the set up and I just use the template on Flash CS5. There's a bit of resizing and renaming to do but I'm getting quicker! 62 photos or less is what's required.

Kev,
I'm the last person to tutor anyone on this, but once the bugs are fixed and extras added, I put a few words together to show just how little I actually know!! This should show that anyone can do it

Re: 360 Bonsai
Once all the tweeks have been made to the template I'll explain it all. The hard bit has been done by someone else in setting up the template. All that's needed is Adobe Flash CS5, the template, a camera and about 45 minutes per tree to get it up and running. If an eejit like me can manage it, anyone can do it!!

Re: 360 Bonsai
I spent hours looking at the other trees on the 360 site. Amazing, love it. I just hope we can use it some day soon, with all the amazing trees on this site. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Neil, I'm fascinated myself, that's why I have pursued getting the software. I would never have been able to design the template though. Thank goodness of tech minded bonsai artists
Below is another tree in 360. A counter has been added to the bottom corner to allow for future discussions about fronts etc. I'm going to have to play about with the resizing though. This one ended up with a clipped pot.

Re: 360 Bonsai
Nice bonsais and gallery set-up.
I was looking for this kind of software for long time. I am using other software for my 360 / 3D Object movies, still Flash based and very powerful. You can even add a multi-row spin, zoom in/out, add buttons, labels, etc.
Please see my creations at: http://scentedleaf.blogspot.com/search/label/3D%20Object%20Movie
Let me know how you like it.

Great stuff, Ian, and as others have said, that is a rather splendid beech.

Re: 360 Bonsai
Added another one to the website today. Thought I would add it here too. It's a Deshojo Japanese Maple after repotting into a Walsall Ceramic pot. The pot gets clipped out a bit when I post here, but works fine HERE
