2010 TAIKAN TEN BONSAI EXHIBITION

The 30th 2010 Taikan Ten Bonsai Exhibition finished yesterday in Kyoto, Japan. It was an excellent exhibition of approximately 200 bonsai. In addition there was a special "10th Anniversary Memorial Display" of trees with some history. These were not formal displays, just people showing their favorite bonsai.

Attached are photos from the set up and judging, opening and the general exhibition. There were three special displays, the Tokugawa Pine from the Imperial Household Collection (over 350 years in pot), Mr. Iwasaki's bonsai and an exhibit of all Kamogawa suiseki from Kyoto.

The large display areas (with purple bunting) cost approximately $1,000 entry fee, while the smaller displays were only $500.
