"abstract" on the the rock
For IBC and Khamraj,
Hi IBC friends this is my latest tree on the rock. I feel like doing something abstract or in my lingo ----weird today, to one of my cascade tree...here is the outcome and I want to share it with you.
Khaimraj something you can comment on...
front view
side view
side view, sorry for the not so clear image
top view- roots well contained, holes plug in.
orange for scale
....as usual comments are always healthy.
regards,
jun

I like it - it has a very abstract feel. I like how the orange appeared in the last shot. Interesting fruit.

Hi Jun,
Taking the liberty of commenting before Khaimraj
Good composition. One way of looking at it is tree on rock. The other way of looking at it is that the composition has a very interesting pot/slab. I say this because tree on rock is in a traditional way is expected to depict a tree on a mountain or hill. However this composition does not seem to reflect that idea as the height of the rock is not much. However what it does is very interesting. It looks like a very abstract pot. Very very interesting.
You've outdone yourself again. Dont stop...

Thanks Ravi.
unfortunately for the composition... I know what Khamraj prefer...he is the traditional kind of guy. I intentionally post this composition partly addressed to him....to annoy my friend. Just playing around with him. I'll post the traditional tree for him.

jun
Rob,
thanks.
I wish I could keep the orange as part of the composition.

Re: "abstract" on the the rock
Ha ha Ravi,
I saw this as it came onto the forum, but I didn't know what to make of it ??????
I like the tree and I like the rock, but either it isn't a comfortable marriage or Jun's overhead light is confusing the image. Feels like it needs sand and a shallow oval tray.
It's like it wants to be an islet surrounded by water and at the same time a scene from the karst lands.

Abstract on a Rock
I don't have any problem with it. It is an abstract piece of bonsai sculpture. If you want to be a little more conventional, you can display it on a sand filled suiban, or a slab stand.
I have a rock from Israel with a similar feel, but only a few holes. Hm, it's an idea.
