You need a Boy Scout to untangle those roots.
I dunno whether the tree would be improved by planting it (a lot) deeper, or not.

I can visualize the concept and think of perhaps snakes somehow involved.
The canopy needs to be tweaked to make it a bit more unified.
Jim, I believe he intends to make the intertwined roots a design feature of the tree so planting deeper is not in the plan.

haha, ya I must have a dirty mind because I think we are thinking the samething. I really do like this though, very unique.

am glad there are only the two of us in IBC who have dirty minds so far tim,
This fukien tea is a very good material for bonsai, it could easily adopt to any bonsai style including the rock grown style. For this particular tree perhaps it would be better to focus on twisted root design,
you may use an equally exotic looking vulcanic rock which is abundant in your area(,black cynder is better than the red) for this tree.

This fukien tea is a very good material for bonsai, it could easily adopt to any bonsai style including the rock grown style. For this particular tree perhaps it would be better to focus on twisted root design,

ha ha ha1 dont even dare!
I tried posting 360 in bonsai and stone but I dont think they appreciate it, I do it in all my favorite trees, its a better way of keeping record of our trees development.
