Will,
just do as the Chinese do, fields of trees in the ground. Just get someone with a good eye to ship the trees to the UK.
Or you can find a friend on the Isle of Wight or other and plant your own. The area in China with fields would be a zone 9 as well, correct ?
Supply quality at a sensible price.

This often happens, where topics evolve and change direction.
Khaimraj. Bonsai material is not something I have a problem with. Although my wife may disagree. Urban, wasteground, Churchyards and forestry land are my areas and although they take a lot longer to mature than yamadori, I feel more comfortable with these areas for collecting.
