Re: Shohin Fagus
Beech are very rare as Shohin. Actually this is the only one I know of. I need to make a try with it when I find some suitable material. Good work Peter. Beautiful autumn colours and a nice tree.

Re: Shohin Fagus
Thanks for all the comments.
John, the tree was collected from the edge of forestry land where they cut down all sapling growth every 5 years.
It looks like this little one survived a couple of these chops before i collected it as the branches had bark on them.
I have been reducing the tree from 16" (40cm) to 8" (20cm) over the last 15 years.
Beeches are slow trees to develop but offer a lot of seasonal joy. Do have a go.

Great little tree Peter! It's interesting to me how you decided to go way down in size over so many years. I think most would have tried to develop it into to a larger specimen. Really like the feeling of this beech and would love to see it leafless as well

Very nice Beech Shohin, love the fall colors. Congrats on all the work you have done to it.
I too would be very interested in seeing this tree after the leaves have all fallen.
Many Thanks for sharing this beautiful shohin.
