Re: COLLECTED COAST OAK
Wow !
Inspiration.
Though oaks won't grow done here for very long.
I dream of growing an indoor oak to at least a 3 inch diameter.
It is why I keep growing the Buddelia [ was Nicodemia d.]
Always enjoy a sumo.
Thanks.

Greetings from a fellow Nor-Cal dweller! Great tree, lots of character in this trunk! The sumo size really accentuates the trunk base. I love Coast Oaks and this is a fine example.

Thanks, Brian. I've done some more work on the oak today. A little wire and trim, and one change to the bottom left trunk. There's an unsightly hollow place there that I filled in with a rock some years ago. Yesterday I found a better rock and installed it.
Come spring, there should be a lot of new growth to fill in some bare spots, and improve the "Oak on a California hillside" image
.
