restyle procumbens juniper
late last year I decommissioned a 3 foot tall rock planting I'd put together in the late 90's. this procumbens was one of two I planted in training pots when the composition was taken apart. some before and after pictures of a restyling project
the tree is fairly old and quite large for a domestic procumbens ( 3 " trunk ). the nebari is fair - but the trunk is straight and uninteresting. the tree was tilted in different ways
until I found a position I liked. this is close .

the trunk was carved to add interest and to divert the eye from the straight line. branches were taken off, others jinned and the tree wired. done for now.
a new pot is in this tree's future

Hi.
now it really is more interesting.
just one question though- dont you think it is not needed for the carving to go a bit more higher?
regards,
jun

Re: restyle procumbens juniper
thanks jun. yes, after the tree rests, I will extend the carving into the curve. BTW, I enjoy viewing the wonderful tropical material you post.

Hi Sam,
Nice to see your design again. How about reducing the width a little bit.
