3" cascade fig.
Hi IBC friends.
great small trees are shared lately. i would like to share one of mine.
top view...leaf size reduction.
my hand for scale. ht of tree-3 inches
in my display niche.
background on the tree.- the tree is locally called "is-is" or "ople"- "is-is" in English means to rub on a surface, the leaves of this tree is so rough and tough it is used in some far flung areas here as an alternative to sand paper, yup..thats how tough and rough these leaves are,
i used it too, when i was a kid to "sand paper"/smooth up the surface of my desk in my grade school days.

Lovely, delicate tree Jun. Leaves sound a bit nasty. Not the sort to cover your private parts

the leaves are odorless...unless, like Will said... used it to cover private parts.

i guess so Will, after reading the story of Adam and Eve...in the end they said "keep away from 'is-is' leaves folks! its not good for your fashion garment". (just made this up)., unless you want some instant size reduction.

i heard also...
...these leaves are also the reason why Adam an Eve left the paradise of south east asia and moved to canada for the more friendly leaves of maple.

That area's small enough as it is. Could cover up with a Chinese Elm leaf!

Nice tree Jun. That fig is native to Indonesia. We called it ficus ampelas.

The one with scent is premna. The shape of the leaves is quite similar.

Like I said before this is a fig tree, just can't Identify the latin name for it (thanks to Budi)
