ESCALLONIA

Landscape collected escallonia by the intrepid urban collector, Tim Kong of San Francisco. Tim found several old escallonia and was permitted to dig them. He very kindly presented me with this one about 2 years ago. I did some power carving on it shortly after receiving it. As they grow fairly fast, I was able to get lots of new growth. I repotted it in early spring, and very recently trimmed and wired it. Height including pot is 17 inches.

Hello Mike. Very good Escalonia. I'd be tempted to find a deeper pot and raise the soil level slightly.
