got new Juniper
Hi all, I have got this Juniper Procumbens few days ago. it is gift from my bonsai master "Arjarn Prakorn" (Prakorn is hisname and Arjarn is mean Master).
first pic is after pick it to my home, have some dead branchs and foliage that need to clear for jin.
this tree look weak as it was grow in wet and poor light area.
after cut out some dead foliage.
after poted in training pot. this pot style is realy local thai style but it is not final pot.
close look on rootage (nabari?), from my opinion... it is look good.
my sketch of future look but for now, this tree need to rest until it become healthy before first training.
all opinion are welcome!

your Juniper
HI,
for achieving as thick trunk as in your drawing, may I suggest using a much wider pot. It will enable the roots to grow, thus enabling a faster growth of trunk & foliage.
Good luck.

Thank you alot Ami BAS,
The trunk is littlebit smaller then in deawing. but I do also prefer on bigger pot, Thanks!.
one problem on this tree is many branchs are too long... have any ideas to fit it close to the trunk?.
cut some long foliages and shoot and leave one pair of foliages to get backbuds that good at this time?.
Thank you for all opinion.

Are you sure that what you have is J. procumbens? That species has all needles. It is hard to tell without a close-up.
If I were you I would go over the tree and cut off all those dead twigs. Then keep pinching the tips. I like the pot, but right now it needs to be in a big shallow training pot until it is healthy.

Procumbens does have scale foliage. Its just one of those species that loves to throw out juvenile foliage, just like San Jose.
