The "mountain" is a composite made up of numerous small rocks assembled using heavy duty epoxy cement. It's hollow inside and the roots of the 7 Kingsville Boxwoods grow down and into the pot. The height of the mountain is 23 inches from the pot rim to the top of the highest tree.
Yesterday I gave the trees a major trimming, cut the roots from around the base of the mountain, added fresh soil and top dressing.

This is one of the nicest landscapes I've seen on the forum, Mike. I'm wondering how it would do alongside some of the others currently being offered up on another thread. I suspect it would outshine them. Quite lovely.

Thanks, Fiona.
This structure goes back about 20 years when I went through a vertical landscape phase, inspired by Chinese landscape paintings.

Best Regards

Mike, this is a lovely composition, the balance between the trees and the rock is superb. I also like the way each individual tree has been styled.
