Libby, i know "honeysuckle" flower but "nitadi" are normally known as non flowering. Do you have any that have flowered ?.

Oh. I didn't know that there are non-flowering lonicera. My bad. I've been looking for a good honeysuckle for a little while. Just found out this year that some are bush types rather than the vines that I see growing wild all around here. Your tree is beautiful.

Actually, I think on the contrary that all lonicera species have flowers
Lonicera nitida have very small flowers that are yellow-green, and on a garden shrub they just go unnoticed, but on a bonsaï, you can see them more easily because of the relative scale.

Alan , thanks for confirming that "nitada" do flower. This is the first time i have seen flowers on this tree in 5 years.
Perhaps the branches are begining to mature which helps.
