I love it too.
The choice of a red pot is unusual, but IMO it fits the overall design very well with the summer colours of the tree.

I believe we had a discussion on here last year regarding red and yellow pots and the jury remained unconvinced despite some very good offerings from, I think, Peter Krebs and some others. This tree and pot combination speaks to me and it is saying that the combination works beautifully.
Another excellent tree, Penjing, and as usual, a stunning photograph as well. I'm not even going to insult its quality by calling it a pic - that's as bad as saying it's a snap.
Quite exquisite.

It is a beutifull tiny maple. Just the pot looks too masive. I would change it.

You must be talking about mine. The red pot is -- I think -- just right.
I've had mine in all kinds and shapes of pots over its 6 year life. I'm still experimenting.

The present pot resembles marble, Jim.
If I treat myself to a humble opinion, the "hot" aged wood complements in an adverse way the "cold" off-white marble.
My ignorance likes it very much! The same does for the sparkling red pot, too!

It's a little Tokonome pot. I do think it is a tad large, but I don't have the exact right size.
