I'd love to send another pot to the UK.
Unfortunately $40 will pay for the shipping of a $40 pot!
now....if we are talking 40 POUNDS, thats a little different!

Just ordered some Euro tools and the Euro/US Dollar and shipping is a killer!!

I could make you anything you want. I just need INSIDE measurement LXWXD.
The blue oval you mentioned, I'm going to take a guess and say about $100 for UPS plus their packing fee which is how I do it. A year or so ago I sent a small pot to Morea and found that US mail was about 25% of UPS charge, BUT, UPS packing is guaranteed against breakage or it's on them. Not so if I pack it for US mail.
I know.....TMI!

Yes , i remember , send Vpot and little slab to You.
Sending to the US is expencive..... some time ago !!
BUT < it is quick !!!
I remember in our parcels for eachother ,
it took only 5 days to travel !!
This is quick considering to Italy or Belgium can take up to 9 days .
Hawaii ... 3 MONTHS !!!!!
US -mail is quite good !!

Your pots look very nice Dale .
I like the banded white crackle with brown undertone , second last picture !!!

Yes, US mail good and fast. and much cheaper than UPS and the likes. But, they pack and I like that especially if a big pot that I'd hate to have broken.
Foot, yes, not looking forward to three shows in three weekends with 2 days between!! Packing, unpacking , standing around, then do it all over again!
I'll be meaner than a Bear with a sore butt by the end of the third one!

That UK show sure looked like fun and a quality show.
I wish I could get over there before I have to drink my beer through an IV tap..

Great varity of pots and the pine cones are nice, you have been staying very busy. Our club meeting today was hosted by Arthur at the NC Arboretum and in the tour of the collection he showed a really nice blue oval pot of yours with a very nice tree in it. I did not have my camera with me but next time I am over there I will try and get a photo of it for you.
Hope its warming up in Ohio now.

Yes, Arthur bought that at the Rochester symposium about 1 1/2yrs ago I think with nothing in mind for it particularly. I'm glad he found something for it. I actually think it was the grey stone looking glaze but in the same shape as the blue one here that Tony commented on.. I'd love to see a potted picture.

Actually, that pot wasn't there. It was still sitting at home with some I couldn't fit in boxes. You probably saw something very similar. But, it WILL be at PBA in two weeks!
BTW, this pot was made from scraps that I didn't want to waste. When I made the big round pot for the Myrtle tree that Mike Page showed in another post I had mis-estimated what I needed to get the height of the walls, so, once I had the diameter and pulled up the walls I had to trim off quite a bit. I used it for this pot which is about 12" across.
Here is a pic I took as pot was finished. Notice the scraps I trimmed off the rim laying on the table next to the pot. That was this pot.

Cool!! Waste not, want not!!

Here are two sides of a fairly good-sized cascade/semi-cascade pot.

Here are a couple cascades just takenfrom the kiln.
Both are about 8" high

two views of a bamboo cascade about 8" high.

Another cascade, almost too fancy?

A bamboo oval in a greyish green glaze. About 14" long

How about a few "Dry Riverbed Pots"?
First one about &' across and second about 12" across

A DRB pot a bit fancier about 12" across
and
a DRB bunjin pot about 10"

Some experimenting that was tough to get a good picture of.
A combed DRB pot with a shino glaze. The shino colors were really washed out from the iron and the DRB effect doesn't show well in the photo.

Too good...

Too bad I live too far away to pinch some of these.

You are a real artist to my taste : daring, inventive, and nevertheless, never "off the limits".

Here are a few more 'Dry Riverbed Pots' with some various techniques.
First a lg one with greenish ash glaze over.



next a large rustic unglazed oval, slight DRB pot but with a band.

Two real nice Dry Riverbed pots using three different clays. The base clay is a new brown test clay from my supplier who sent me some samples. I ordered a bunch!!
These pots are about 7" and 9" across.

A large round DRB about 16"



and a 17" nice traditional oval with DRB finish.

another large rustic round DRB with a band



and a shohin with green crackle band.

another bunjin unglazed with fern leaves. A different ash glaze than the last one I did.
