Quercus suber
Hi all!
I made an yamadori of a quercus suber last year. It seems to have reacted good as you can see in the two fotos. Now it is infected by a fungus. I'm thinking in cut the trunk by the red line shown in the virtual. With this i will eliminate the infected leaves and start the "work" of the future bonsai. What do you think? Is this the time to cut the trunk or should i wait another year? Should i use a fungicide too??
Thanx....

Re: Quercus suber
Looks like powdery mildew to me but the pics a bit blurred. Powdery mildew is quite common on Oak, is easily treated and is of no harm to the tree. Hope your not chopping the trunk, just to get rid of the fungus? If you just want a shorter tree, I would cut it down in stages and see how it buds back.
