Hi Mike,
Is this how the tree looks after 20years collecting or when it was freshly collected?
If i look at my subers, the growth on your suber has the growth from 1 year...

Mike, I like the old bark on this tree.
Also, I was looking through "Bonsai Today" issue 106 and saw a Penjing (Buxus m., Kingsville) on rock, by Mike Page. First Place in the 'Bonsai Today Awards', penjing, saikei, or forest planting category. Is that you? Nice planting!

The three branches are what is left of growth from the past year or 2. Restyling to bunjin.
