Thank you, Pat. I'm sure the winners would agree that whatever our offering to the bonsai community - humble or huge -we're doing it because we love our hobby and not for the thanks and back-patting. But it is nice to be recognised for a contribution every so often so I reiterate your well done to them.
For the record and in in response to an enquiry, Voting ended at 12 midnight (UK time) as always stated on Monday 4th January and I duly locked the posts at 1.15am on Tuesday 5th.
A couple of people had asked me informally why there was to be a day's wait for the outcome. So as the voting had already ceased and I had no need to spend hours collating results (marvels of technology) I felt there was no real need to keep pepole in suspense and just went ahead and produced the results today - at 1.20am on Tuesday 5th.
Again, I have Alain K's words in my mind that we're all good guys on here, so let's all pat ourselves on the back in however humble or huge a way we think appropriate. On with 2010 then.

Yes. Apparently your parting gets to change side on your head.Tony wrote: ...are there any perks when you win?
Guys, it's nice to be thanked but I think we're all forgetting this was Dorothy's idea not mine. So thanks due to Dorothy for coming up with it as much as (if not more than) to me for pushing a few buttons about on a screen.Tony wrote:Thanks for organising this Fiona.

I would like to thank Tony for his humour, his "tong-in-cheekness" (sorry, my native language is not English, and I don't think there's a word for "second degré").
I'm really glad he's the one that was elected, all the more than I don't take part in these kinds of beauty pageants.
Medals, drums rolling while people are marching to the sound of music: not my cup of tea, sorry.
