that is really wonderful!!! i am struggling as to figure out is that a giant old stump or is it rock? check out the faces and heads coming out of it. in fact is it real or great photo manipulation? who cares it has still inspired me. thanks for sharing. cheers

I'm pretty sure it's a sea stack, a pillar of rock left when the cliffs all around have been eroded by the sea.

I think Kev is right about that.
Somebody who also inspired about trees growing on rocks is my friend Pierre de Koning.
He give me permission to show this picture off his work.
