Amur Maple Root Fungus Empty Amur Maple Root Fungus

Can anyone help me ID this fungus growing from newly dead roots on my Amur Maple? It looks to me like brittle cinderor something similar. Can anyone recommend a good treatment? If it is brittle cinder, there doesn't seem to be any cure, but I'm wondering if there's something that can be done to treat a bonsai that wouldn't be possible with trees in the ground...

Unfortunately, I cannot offer a diagnosis. However, if it were mine I would cut back good wood and treat with a fairly strong fungicide.
