Beautiful Satsuki. I'd be thinking of potting it up slightly, removing a little at the base and lowering the soil line slightly to expose more of the trunk base, either after flowering or next spring.

For sure. I had to establish vigor after it made the trip over. It lost half the right apex via damage in shipping.
I did expose more nebari this past march and removed a lot of root, But yes this next March its moving to a new home.

As Kev has said: beautiful Satuski, and I agree with his recommendations! I look forward to seeing it in its new pot.
As you seem to be in my neck of the woods (northern CA) am interested in your statement that you will repot in March . I typically don't repot Satsukis until well after flowering. What is your thinking and experience?
