Re: Root over rock Jasmine
I would use raffia or strips of plastic shopping bags to really very tightly tie the tree to the rock all around. You really must apply a lot more pressure so that it has any hope of shaping to the rock.
Usually root over rock styles are made by growing the roots and trunk over the rock and getting them shaped right from the start. It is very difficult to get them to come together if the tree is already a few years old.

JASMINE
may be an uphill battle to significantly thicken the trunk, as most vines need some serious growth of branches to get small increase in caliper of trunk. My jasmine and my wisterias are huge and now have caliper of 5" diameter. Best of luck to u.
