Linden yamadori #2
Another tree I dug up last spring and it grew very strongly so this Linden also got wired this winter. This one was growing close to my other Linden and I liked the double trunk so I grabbed it as well.
How I brought it home
after the growing season
Perhaps a new pot in the spring and I am also thinking about air-layering this base. I will know more once I see the roots again.

Another nice Linden Thomas!
Mine needs wiring. Having seen yours I might be inspired to get off the computer, get outside and do some real bonsai (I like to think of time on this forum as "research" but my trees wont wire themselves).
Cheers
Richard

Thanks to both of you and Richard I am happy I helped motivate you, if I can so proclaim : D. This fall/winter was the most I've ever wired or styled.

I like this one much better than the other Linden you posted (in that one the downward oriented branches dont look as natural as this one and IMHO are somewhat distracting...) But I like this one quite a bit...

I see Maro's point... those lower branches will take forever to become thicker than the one that is obviously your "first branch".
unless of course those smaller ones have a job to do, such as assisting in healing a wound not visible to us...

Maros and Kevin,
Thank you for your input and suggestions!
Kevin - funny when you say natural as Linden take on a few shapes, the exaggerated branches bending down is one of them and I have yet to see it in bonsai. Linden and Horse Chestnut do this but I understand how it just looks awkward right now because it does. I am using all of the leaves to push the tree forward and create a good air-layer this year. After the new roots take I will begin developing the top to make sense.
- regarding the lower branches on this Linden, I am also going to allow these to get much bigger and will make more sense in a few years, right now they have good placement but are too small. Again, all of the leaves will stay on this year to help the air-layer happen
Maros - thanks again for the visualization, I see your point and I could change the blue/red branch. I think I will keep the lower ones to support the whole tree with growth and I will make sure that they become twice as large as the branches towards the apex, they are already close to the same size as the winter 2016 photo.
Have a great day guys!
