VINTAGE IBC !
so yesterday we gathered at my pad for our arbor arts collective work session and our guy ron fortmann (of ancient arts bonsai) shows up wearing this !!!
he was a member of the email group way back then and while he is still active in bonsai, he is not a current member of this forum though i hope to change that...
(pics/vids of the gathering can be seen on instagram #arborartscollective)

Re: VINTAGE IBC !
Mine is the IBC '99 green polo shirt, but I may have the '98 t-shirt somewhere. I remember reading the text only IBC with my wife and hoping for the day when we could display it on the TV since the computer screen was so small. That was many, many years ago.

I seem to have a memory of Mr. Lewis sporting one of these shirts at one of the early Carolina Bonsai Expos!

Back in the day this site tended to be kind of elitist and snobbish and if you didn't march to the PC drummer you were discouraged from posting. Now a once very active and wonderful site has allowed is lesser demons to eat it alive. Of course the Face Page has not been kind.

Vance,
I knew a Fine Artist [ died 2 or 3 years ago ] of considerable knowledge, who once said,
"You had your say, and I have had mine, Not much else to do after that", and on Internet Forums, it is worse
than in reality.
How many times can one say the same thing over and over to those new to Bonsai ?
Especially since it is recommended that before your enter a forum, read the archival material and I would
add take notes.
Been with IBC as an e-mail list since 1988/9 or so and have had to take a breather every now and again.
especially after Christmas and the mallsai plague.
Been with IBC and the first image gallery.
Still here but much slower, would rather Design, paint and tend to my trees or make some pottery or
jewellery, perhaps til the land, build a house.
Plus this group has had high volume, then low volume and then high..................
One can only handle so many ---------- help, I have aphids..........
Stay Well, Sir.
Laters.
Khaimraj
* Also do a check on who has been here for knowledge to write a book, open sales, other than friendship.

indeed khai... i have made friends here that i might not have other wise met...
and not all are "virtual friends"...
my biggest kick is later meeting some of these good folks in real life and shaking their hand or exchanging a hug even.
you are on the wish-to-meet list but sadly distance may prevent that.
(unless you want to meet half-way in ft. myers florida )

Re: VINTAGE IBC !
You are both welcome, but I need a year or two to finish the house at Mayaro.
Nick's education took away a full year and a bit.
Behind on finishing the bottom floor and then onto the apartment next to the house.
House was built for guests. Hear that Fiona, find your bikini, please.
What you need. 1US $ = 6.83 TT $ ----- 1 UK pound = 11.00 TT $
You supply the cooking gas and rented car.
House will be solar powered.
Kevin, I have some Amerindian family from Venezuela, and I am sure they would happy
to ferry you around by canoe. Marzo, Marzo.

No problem. As long as, for their own sanity, your other guests are all vision impaired.

Kevin,
my brother-in-law hangs out at Bnut. Mike's avatar is Godzilla, they get along. He asked me to help Mike over here.
Anthony is a retired Scientist and did my house for solar power. He is a whizz with technology, very inventive.
Relaxes by weeding / watering the bonsai and sometimes dabbles with designs.
Claims he has not an artistic bone -------------- fibs
Oh oh he is coming back to the laptop ------------ gotta go.
Until.
