Be careful you don't poke an eye out with that thing.

It is looking nice. Did you create the grooves in the deadwood with powertools or just peeling away wood along the lines of the tree?

Thank you for the comment. The grooves in the deadwood are both tools and hand created, however I will still add more to it, there is a top notch that I like to flush out.

it isn't fun until someone loses an eye
andreas - were you also responsible for styling the tree with all it twists and turns ?
and is that pot actually purple ?
or just unglazed xixing clay that is appearing very purple in the images ?
i think this will be nice when it is done...

Thanks for comment and question.
I am not fully responsible for the tree, some of it was styled, but not as present, I added more carving and reset the branches, main trunk was set. As I got it it was outgrown and wire where grown almost into the tree. The soil condition where clay like little drainage. I go sometimes to the Bonsai area of Bogor Mountain ( day trip from Jakarta) where hundreds of trees being sold. I spot trees that are in unfinished condition, or have been neglected, that makes them easier and cheaper to buy. It is a bonsai paradise up there.
The pot is as it is, no glaze.
At present, I don't do any work on it, since the tree has been repotted (December 15), in Indonesia (Jakarta) re-potting reporting Juniper is the hardest part to do, I can't really tell why, but as soon you touch the root system they start acting up. Needle regrowth, brown tips, drying in the all over condition, or worse even die off.
I will show another Juniper soon that did act up, after reporting, he just now recover but still just.
