deepening fall
Here in th Pcifc Northwest, the sense of fall is becoming more apparent.
I believe this is the first time I have pictured a biwa with the basic toko.
Foggy river valleys and gathering flocks of migratory birds.
The stone mountain hut is showing a heavy frosted roof
and even the harvest of late fruits (perssimon) has begun.
The bonsai is a miss pat lillac deep into it's fall color and beginning to drop leaves.
Viewing this scene causes me to think of turning up the thermostate or maybe a fire in the fireplace would be nice.

Re: deepening fall
I love it. Feels nice visually at first glance.
Granted, I know little of display..
But your eyes will let your brain know with little subtelty a visual synapse
I think that means error, correct?
Thanks for sharing
Makes me contemplate

Re: deepening fall
Maybe the hut a tiny bit foward and a bit more than that to the viewers right, perhaps?

Re: deepening fall
Nice display!
I particularly like the scroll which is excellent.
If I was to offer some (hopefully) constructive criticism it would only be to say that both the pot and the stand look rather massive for such a slender, elegant tree.
A more elegant pot and a simpler stand might look better but despite this the tree itself still manages to hold the space surprising well. The overall feel is nice.
I like it.

Richard

Re: deepening fall
feel your stand comments are well taken. I'm finding like Miss Piggy that "more is not enough".....when it comes to diversity in table shapes and sizes. It was the best compromise I could achieve with available stock.

Re: deepening fall
Yeah, I can image that being a persistent problem. If you have a wide variety of trees you want to display you could almost end up needing a different stand for every one!

Re: deepening fall
I know nothing about display only whether I like them or not. I really like this one. Thanks for sharing.

Re: deepening fall
I sent a photo to David de Groot of the toko and his response ( so we can all learn) was that the tree and the figurine was simple and got the message across.
That while having several items to use is tempting but over kill.
thank-you Davod....

Tokonoma Display
I really like your Toko display, it shows all the elements of the Toko and completes the context.
I especially like your Scroll, it conveys the feeling of Serenity and is very tasteful.
Nice work., very nice display and nice Bonsai, it all comes together and works...

Re: deepening fall
encouragement appreciated. It's been a struggle advancing. Seems at times I make one step forward, then 2 back
