species... any guesses ?

i acquired this for free late last fall and thought the trunk was interesting... i wintered it outside, buried in my garden...
this spring it leafed out and the leaves are a bit large...

any guesses at the species ?
(lilac ? somesortof ivy ?)

yes... i fell in luv with VB during my oh-so-fortunate 3 months in australia riding on a rich girl's dime about 25 years ago...
