2 days after Christmas and . . .
. . . . one of my apricot trees in the "orchard" in in full bloom. No apricots for us this year!

Sorry Jim. Down here in the lowlands we also have been experiencing above average temps - in the 60s. Great for us, but and beginning to worry about the trees. I have a feeling that this will again be a bad winter. Bundle up and enjoy the view from inside your home.

jim - the day after x-mas, we had sunshine and low 50s (f) for temps which is highly unusual for us here in SE wisconsin... i went beachcombing along lake michigan which was quite fortuitous as i found a small, perfect piece of driftwood for a phoenix graft on a small shimpaku that i was all but ready to give up on styling after a couple large mistakes on small material (but learning along the way)...
so this phoenix graft may just (ironically) give it new life...
that is, if i didnt (again ironically) kill it in the process...
will post pics soon.

Very nice. One of my Japanese apricots is about to flower, so I'll be doing similar myself soon.
