Glad to see you're back Jun! Missed seeing your awesome projects. That old saying applies: You don't know what you have until it's gone. One question. How many people does it take to move a piece like this. I'm a large healthy man but just looking at something like this makes my back hurt.

hahaha! It won't hurt your back, It is not one piece composition, for easy handling.
the bigger part is this size. they can also be displayed separately.

Wow Jun, that is fabulous. Thanks for the image to give a sense of scale. Most of the trees look good enough to stand on their own, in a shohin display, that's a lot of seasonal pruning there. Fabulous. Good to see your projects.

short answer: usually yes (whether into a carved or natural hollow)
long answer: and other ways, using things like mesh and muck, etc

It is a natural rock. soft kind of rock. then carved and hollowed out some portions for the root ball.
