Alex, not exactly addicted but I do collect stones
In fact I have some very beautiful stones to my eyes.
I have no knowledge about suiseki and cannot appreciate a stone, so when I leave a comment this is because the stone simply attracts me.

Figure stones like hut stones seem to be eluding me! And I do think you've found a very nice one, so congratulations. I'm really into display and these types of stones provide lots of opportunities.
Just a thought here, the daiza used is very simple in it's design presentation. If it was more elaborate/elegant would it change the perception of the figurine from a common person to more aristocratic? Would having two different dai's give you more use opportiunities in display?

Re: HUMAN-SHAPED
Hi Neli,
Really i'm no expert sometimes at first glance i see what the stone want me to see..but as time passes it looks more and more of i originally didn't see...I always put deep pots and seat the stone on the sand so i can visualize it more clearly,or accidentally i put it aside suddenly the perfect shape.
In choosing i like black stone coz it gives deeper dimension and flexibility to give out the best.flower or picture stone are more exact.
I choose first the quality of stone....hardness and texture, second the color... The deeper the enhancement i think the denser it is ... Third i go for is shape....asian value stones with holes for it gives character and time because of natures doing...fourth... I go for size ..not to huge and too small..but it's a matter of preference and availability of display area...
As you go deeper into putting so much DEAD WEIGHT in our home.. The more you will love it Dear..
I hope i had shed some light to keep you started
Most kind regard,
Ogie
