The secret of seed growing
Talking to my nephew, he thought I should share this with the group.
If you choose to grow a seed, decide which technique you want to use,
[1] Place on a tile for good root distribution
or
[2] Place in a colander
The soil should be prepared as well as a Bonsai soil, freely draining, able to hold enough moisture and so on.
Go to a depth of at least 18" [ 46 cm ] or you can raise the bed.
I am lucky, this house comes with raised troughs running all around the house, and I have changed the soil originally there to a bonsai mix.
NOW here is the secret. Plant, and get on with your life.
Go to the beach, hike, dance whatever, pass the year or better yet as advised by Harry Harrington, leave for two years.
Experience will show you which way allows you to dig up the plants easily.
Please remember to plant at least 30 to 40 seedlings, and give them at least 2' to 3' [ 61 cm to 1 m ] of distance from each other . More if possible. Fertilise, manure as you wish.
It only takes a long time if you sit and watch the grass grow.
When you get close to the trunk thickness you want, begin the cut down and branching cycle.
Later.

* I also use 55 US gallon black barrels at different heights, if I need more space.
