Crassula sarcocaulis pruning advice?
I obtained a specimen of Crassula sarcocaulis early last summer.
It sulked a while, and lost most of its foliage, probably largely due to A, climate/altitude change from where I made my purchase, and B, reducing the root/soil mass to fit into the pot I had in mind for it. Eventually it pushed new growth and regained its vigor.
At the moment I am enjoying a mild flush of flowers...but the new growth is leggy. I would very much appreciate pruning advice, especially how far to cut stems back, and if there are any special tricks to promote ramification. I am not sure if the guidelines for other jades are a good match? TIA.

Hi Sam, I had to google this one, but everything I read indicated you best bring this one over the mountain to me, never do well over there in K-Falls. HaHa! Just joking! Seems to be even much better than Crassula o. as far temperature variance and watering needs (handles overwatering better).
Trimming and prunning are about the same and propagation as easy, I will be expecting a rooted cutting next time you make a trip over the hill. The leggy growth indicates more light is needed and pinching throughout the growing season to ramify. Rick

When thinking of a design take into consideration the habit of the beast - the twigs want to grow straight up. The best bonsai I have seen of this species is where the canopy is in an open umbrella style.
I normally cut back to the last leaf or two - thin twigs may die back if you don't.

I've never heard of this species but I just googled it and I love it. I'm a big fan of succulents.
