Swindon Bonsai Show
Hi folks
I was at a bit of a loose end today so I thought I'd pop down to Swindon to cast an eye over the Swindon & District Bonsai Club's winter show.
Well I say "pop", it was a 340 mile round trip! Still what else was I going to do on a dull Sunday in February?
Anyhow, joking aside it was a great show, excellent quality trees, nicely presented. There were demos going on in a side room and plenty of trade stands selling trees, pots and other accessories. I bought myself a couple of pots from Walsall and Daniel Butler (which if the weather stays like it is will have trees in them within the fortnight) and all this for a £5 entrance fee!
Congratulations to the organisers I had a great time, very inspiring. It seemed popular with everyone else as well judging by the lack of parking space and the crowds in the hall. Well worth the motorway miles and I can definitely see me coming next year (assuming it's a annual event).
Unlike with some shows ( ) they don't appear to mind you taking a few photos either so here's a small random sample of snaps I took. I'm sure others will have better quality images but forum posts without photos can be a bit boring so I'll stop typing and post a few images.
Here you go,
Regards
Richard

Re: Swindon Bonsai Show
Thanks for the comments Richard............see you next year then, cause it is an annual event, it will possibly be the 22nd Feb [needs to be confirmed with the centre]
As long as we don't get too many complaints from the locals about the parking, we don't have any control how visitors park!!!
I hope that you don't mind but I will add a few of my photos to your post to save opening another, I will try not to duplicate

Thanks for your comment Chris. These are just a small selection as I was busy doing other things and didn't get a chance to photo them all

Jaw dropping gorgeous trees; beautiful. I'm taken by the Shimpaku over rock, and the Western Hemlock, and the Literati Pine!
