Lime Sulphur
Hi
Does anyone know where you can buy lime sulphur (Jin whitener) in the UK. I am told it is difficult to get as the Japanese have stopped exporting.
Alternatively does anyone have a recipe?
Finally has anyone had any luck with finding/using an alternative?

Re: Lime Sulphur
Last year I used Lime Sulphur for veterinary purposes and it worked. Might be an option.

Re: Lime Sulphur
I strongly suspect you DON'T want to make this stuff. If you have neighbors within a half mile of your house - they will seriously want to kill you for inflicting the smell on them!
In the U.K., can you place orders for this stuff from Amazon in the U.S.?

Re: Lime Sulphur
Here in the State of Maryland, USA, lime sulphur is sold in farm supply stores and large nurseries. Product is not bonsai specific but used as a agricultural dormant season spray.

Re: Lime Sulphur
For sulpur and lime solution.
For strong solution
Obtain powdered 112grams of quicklime, 225grams sulphur and 1 liter water.
For weak solution
Powdered
22.5 gram quick lime and 25 gram sulphur and 1 liter water. The lime and sulphur in powdered form are mixed seperately each in half the amount of water. They are then mixed together and boiled for 50 minutes. Then the solution turns brown. Cool it and then seive it and store in a tight plastic jar.
Thanks
Aman
