Collected Larch 2

This one has a great root base but after the initial branches the rest of the trunk had no branches for about 2 feet so I chopped it off and carved it.  Now the carving needs refined, possibly a split trunk style.

That's an awesome tree, but I can't take my eyes off of that moss! It looks perfectly spread and is honestly the best moss job (?) I've ever seen.

Well, that's pretty much what it is right now. The branches need shortened, lowered and have movement added. The trunk has not much taper which carving will help address. Up to now reducing the tree down to it's present size and attacking the trunk have been the major work. I stopped here to let the tree recover. Here is the tree after collection.

This image is more in line with a natural Larch if you have ever been in a forest containing them. I go for this guy.

This is what larch forests look like near me.

You have to kind of go off road down into the bogs where few things but Larch can survive. Larch do not like competition, at least the Laricena does not.

Unfortunately, bogs around here offer little in the way of collectible material.  Drainage ditches, on the other hand offer up  a cornucopia of materiel between snow being piled up on them and the mowing, I've found some excellent trees. My avatar is one.
