BSOB at the Melbourne, Florida USA "Masters of Art Show."
Last weekend our club held its Bonsai extravaganza at the Melbourne Florida "Masters of Art" show in downtown Melbourne. What a success. According to the show organizers our display was the hit of the show, had the most people around it and created the most buzz. We were invited back (always a good sign) and will be given the same prime real estate position in the middle of the event It was quite a treat to be hanging out with painters, sculptors, writers and photographers.
The weather was fantastic, the people watching excellent and the excitement in the club palatable.
Here myself and Chuck Dear wonder how we moved that big buttonwood "Dantes Inferno."
A complete report is on my blog.

No, but very funny. We raffled a bougy (nice one at that) and not the buttonwood, but I did have an offer on the buttonwood. It was few 0's off though.dorothy7774 wrote:Rob,

I just checked this out on your blog, and apparently commented in the wrong post ...DOH!
Anyway, I am glad it was such a success. Bonsai should, IMHO, be considered fine art! Bringing good exposure of our art form to the public deserves high marks. Perhaps other clubs will take your idea also? That would be great too.
Great job!

Hi Rob... how come Dante's Inferno is labeled 'Food' in the first photo... was it barbecued later?

And labeled Divas from above. Can't control your surroundings when out in the wild.Tony wrote:Hi Rob... how come Dante's Inferno is labeled 'Food' in the first photo... was it barbecued later?

Or as Maxwell Smart used to say "Would You Believe Lens Foreshortening?"
