Can I repot a ficus now?
I was thinking since it technically never fully goes dormant, am I able to repot a ficus now. It grew really well over the summer and is very strong. So what's the conclusion?

Where is it growing/how is it growing? Is it still growing or has it stopped? Ficus do tend to slow down.

Re: Can I repot a ficus now?
Hi Jake,
I have repotted 4 tropicals this November...2 large ficus, a very old bougie and a nea buxifolia. I live in the cold north, zone 4 and have a room in my basement with HD sodium and florescent lights. The trees sat on a seedling heating mat until the ficus stopped dropping leaves and new shoots began to appear. The nea and bougie haven't skipped a beat with no leaf drop and healthy growth.
So if it can be done up here; it should surely be feasible in Virginia. I've used straight lava rock for my mix with excellent growth.
Good luck,
Norma

Ryan,
Its by a inside window and it is still pusing new growth but I was also still fertilizing untill late november/ early decmber due to an article I read.
Norma,
Thank you for you response. This one is in sifted potting soil and grew new roots like crazy. I tried using just lava rock but my tree stayed too dry.

I live in zone 5 and have a Benjamina. i would have no concerns about re-potting it now. Ficus are very tolerant.
