Re: hot pink warms the soul
Sam,
through you, I will learn to like and perhaps love bougainvillea.
Why? Because down here they are as common as dog, as we say.
My neighbour's yard [ 1/2 acre ] to right of me and my neighbour to the left of me, has them as hedges.
Too much colour - ha ha.
Yet no shape, just a mass - ugly.
Like your shapes/work.
Yeah, I guess that would be Hot Pink - chuckle.
Thanks a million.

* I actually like and have, what I think they call on your side - California Gold, I like how the bracts age.
Nothing to show.

Sweet tree Sam!
Bougies are among my favorites. Is there any Tricks to keeping them blooming?

thanks for the responses, all.
to encourage new blossoms, cut the branches / twigs back after flowering to encourage a flush of new growth.
best wishes, sam

Lovely Sam
I have a couple in training and a long way off worrying about flowering but from what I understand they need to be deprived of water to put on a good show.
If so how do you manage to maintain that mossy soil surface at the same time?

hi justin.
I live in a climate zone too warm and dry for moss to grow naturally. the moss was added before the photos were taken. within 2 days, the green turns dry and brown.
best wishes, sam
