Bark removal from a dead Yew branch
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for some advice on how best to remove the bark from a dead Taxus Cuspidata branch.
Is it best to remove it using hand or rotary tools??
The bark has "shrunk" to the heartwood making it much more difficult to remove compared to creating a Jin on a live branch. I have made a start by hand, although it is taking some time, but I was worried about attacking it (personally) with power tools. If I did it I would end up with matchwood
Thanx in advance for your help,
Okk, Okk,
Simon

I'd enquire with the Piratical one. He seems to have no qualms whatsoever about attacking other peoples' trees with large, whirring devices.
Actually, on reflection, that didn't come out quite as intended.
Although it does conjure up a rather chucklesome image.
