Re: ginkgo biloba
With leaves it's decidedly better
I see first time so formed ginkgo and I like him very much. In autumn to look surely beautifully.

Different...and i like it to. I always wondered why is it that we see ginkgos upright/broom or whatever the form it is. I thought the branches can not be defined enough. Very refreshing for this species i think.
That piece of wood looks perfect!

Yes indeed very unusual form for a Ginkgo, but very nice too. How long for you to get it in this shape?

Re: ginkgo biloba
Incredible! Such a dynamic and mature ginkgo is a rare sight.
I would love to know more about the history/development of this tree.

Re: ginkgo biloba
that is the best shaped ginko bonsai i've ever seen
the flame type broom has become the supposed correct ginko image but the one in my garden looks more like this one than a flame.
a pleasure to see thanks

Cram, beautiful tree and very unique. I do like flame/upright (natural) style for Ginkgo, but I also like a stylized form. I have seen many photos of Ginkgo Penjing with lots of curves, like yours. I like your tree best after leaf drop where you can really see the lines of the branches. Your ramification is coming along. I wonder how long the wood container will last. IT makes a very nice presentation.

Hi IBC family,
I just came back home yesterday from ABFF 2013 in Philippine. It was such an amazing exhibition as they said. Be welcomed very warmly and friendly from organisations...I had enjoyed a lot in Bonsai trees, Bonsai shows and exchanged with many Bonsai artists, Bonsai friends from many countries.
I love ABFF...Love Bonsai.

Re: ginkgo biloba
woa...thank you very much for all the flowers
todd ...i d like very much to see this pictures of twisted ginkgo in penjing
the piece of wood will die in time of course(like everything^^)
but not to fast....for example i have an elm in a wood of this kind
it is fine at last since 4 years ...and it is still ok for at least 2 or 3 more
and the fact is that i ve got these woods in the mountains around my house...so when this pot will die...i ll change it

Re: ginkgo biloba
Hi Cram,
The picture I saw of the Ginkgo similar to yours is on the front cover of Chinese Bonsai: The Art of Penjing by Ilona Lesniewicz and Li Zhimin. It is a curvy informal upright in an unglazed pot. The authors describe this tree as 65 cm tall and "formed in the traditional Yang style: a gently twisted trunk with horizontal branch-steps in the lower half, and a circular crown"
(English language edition copyright 1988)
