Hydrangea plants
I picked up a plant at the nursery just for the trunk.. it has rough bark with a nice root system.. the leaves are oblong with kinda veins,small saw tooth edges.. is this a kind of hydrangea ??? if so will it make a pretty nice tree ??? thank you john

Yes, it could be a hydrangea, one of the paniculatas. Or it could be weigelia... hard to say.
They can be fun to work with, wire the branches while they are still fairly soft.

Russell,, Thank you very much for your reply.. does it help that the center of the old part of the branches where i pruned it is soft puffy??? anyway i will wire some movement in the branches they are small...thanks take care john
