In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit
That is a project that I executed last week.
I bought it on ebay, a lead miniature hand painted of Bilbo.
A litle ulmus parvifolia

Until we can ascertain if the poster really meant this to go in Gallery, can we please ask members to remember items posted in this section are not intended for comment.

Sorry Fiona, maybe I made a mistake, I'd love comments.

No problem...I'll move it to The Lounge as the Personal Gallery is for display only without comments. If you wish you can also place an image of the finished display in the Gallery. Looks like a fun project!

Andre',
Really impressed, and I really, really, really like it.
Started reading Tolkien's works at 14 years of age, and still like to re-read the books from time to time.
Favourite book - Silmarillion.
Elm works so well, on it's own and as THE TREE.
The structure is effectively balanced and the whole combines attractively together.
Thank you.

Thank you Khaimraj
Obviously I love all Tolkien's works, I had read the Silmarillion a couple of times but I still prefer LOTR because of the narrative, in the oder hand Silmarillion fas better histories.
This elm is too young, I will develop a better branch structure in it, but it needs time. I'd like to re-mount this work on a bigger rock plate in order to create a more detailed and complex landscape, what do you think about it? I didn't do it yet because I don't have enough space for it in home, I live in an apartment.

Andre',
to be frank, I like it as it is.
If you had to make a change, there is a an elm yatsubusa, that I have with much finer/ smaller leaves and very refined multiple branches / branchlets.
If I could I would send you a root.
But I like what you have created.
Thank you.

I think that if I could control watering, insolation, pinch the leafs and prune it regularly for now on, with time I'll get a better ramification and leaf reduction. Any way, I'd love a root of that elm you talk about. I'll look for that specie, thanks for the tip.

Tolkien landscape!
This is fabulous!! I like the size figurine you choose; he scales nicely w/ the tree & home.
I also, don't see what you could improve- I like it!
Saw a fairy-forest somewhere, clearly LOTR inspired but had a little too much glitter for my taste!
What else would you want to add?
I'm a apt dweller too. I think my husband is thankful I've run outta room! Lol
