Re: The Mountain
this stone and many that i see coming from your country have wonderful outlines. Worn smooth from their time in the river. I wonder if by finding some, more recently deposited in the upper reaches of the stream, if you could find some that retain some texture?

Nice and sweet stone, daiza to thick and not dark enough, to my mind. We see too much the daiza

In My Humble Opinion...
If seen with respect for Vietnamese style,
and not any other style!...
Stand and Stone are perfect union!,
marriage will last more than a life time...

Re: The Mountain
I anderstand, all the taste must be respected, and I do. But If you whant to keep the natural color of the wood, it doesn't change anything for the thickness of the daiza. So I would have say, that the stone would be better seen if the daiza was in a japanese style. And perhaps I would have write "in my humble opinion", to my mind had for me exactly the same signification. I respect Vietnamise rules, but I don't find the result as beautifull as it would be by taking the japanese ones..... I am sorry if I have a wrong interpretation of your reply stonener, but The emoticon you used hurted my sensibility ().

Re: The Mountain
Hello,
Maybe something like this.
A smaller stand underneath this beautiful stone gives a bigger and stronger mountain image.
This has not so much to do with a Vietnamese or Japanese style i feel.
I see also fine Vietnamese stands that have proportions and design which serves the viewing stone very well.
Certain is that Vietnam has beautiful wood which many of us would want to import,
these wood sorts deserve celebrating ofcours but the point is how.

Re: The Mountain
Yvonne, I see what your saying but what would you suggest to correct it. I'm in my figure stone facination period
