Anyone,
something to ponder.
If you remember where the speaker in the video, says of the Shimpaku, some say that the wiring doesn't make the tree look very natural.
You may not be aware, it is also said that many Japanese trees now look like bushes.
Note that for a Bonsai to look natural, a study trees of the same type in nature is needed to develop the silhouette -

- it should be attractive as that is what first catches the eye from a distance before leaves and branches come into view.
Then you develop the masses - shown here by light green, dark green and medium green - if need be just squint.

Shimpaku juniper as I know it is a shrub in Japan, but a tree in China.
In the video.
Note with the fine foliage refining, the finished results just look like green triangles and the masses make no real sense,
The technique for refinement is there, but the reasons behind the design technique have been lost.
Even a tree that looks natural has a design hidden away in it.
Humble apologies if you all already knew this and I am insulting your intelligence.
