Pruning Acer Arakawa
Can anyone advise me as to the pruning of Arakawa. On other Acers I usually take out the growing tip in the centre of the previously formed pair of leaves. This promotes two more shoots. On my Arakawa nothing seems to form between the pair of leaves.Hope I am making sense.

Re: Pruning Acer Arakawa
Is this a newly acquired tree? That is the usual procedure for maples, but perhaps you're getting so close to fall in the UK that the tree is reluctant to put out new growth????

Pruning Acer Arakawa
Hi Jim
I bought the tree this year in the spring. As the leaves that developed were a little on the large side I leaf pruned in mid June. The new growth was as I have described.I will try to get a couple of photos posted.
Thanks for the comments
