Bonsai shop in Morioka (pictures included)
I went to Japan this summer and instead of going to the Kansai area as I am used to, I went quite farther north to Morioka city. Nice stay, very, very gentle people.
One of the IBC member (Nekotoban) had kindly checked for me if they were a bonsai shop in Morioka, there was one and so I went there.
The owner of the shop was not here but his wife was, and my son and I were very warmly welcomed. The shop is specialized in big trees (Ômono) and they do have an impressive collection of them. They sold only very high quality trees. If you happen to go to Morioka don't miss it ! (you can drop me a PM so that I can explain you how to go there.)
Shop entrance. It reads Shinshôen : the park of the true pine.
General views :
Some of the impressive trees for sale there :
The owner's wife didn't want to appear on the Internet, so she asked me to take her dog ( a charming Shiba inu) as the representative of the shop.
Many thanks for the kind reception (and to Nekotoban too).

What are those black "balls" that are seen in some of the pictures there in the pot?
I failed to indentify them even after I checked all the pictures 5 times.

And it does disintegrate from watering?
Yes, but I don't know the mix so it might more dissolve than disintegrate.

Thanks so much for posting these. Those trees are just spectacular.
It's always a treat to see details from places like this that so many of us can't get to.
