Great styling Gregg. Goes easy with repotting. It will take many years to get this tree into an appropriate bonsai pot.

Who's Gregg my name is Brian. Thank you for the comment on my tree. I am not going to do anything with the roots for awhile, and when I do, the tree is so root bound I don't even think I will be able to pick the roots out to separate them. That's how jammed they are in the pot. I don't think this tree has ever been repotted ever.

I'm sorry Brian. It was a dyslexic thing.... the "DD" turned into a "GG" in my brain and somehow I got "Gregg".
Your tree is a good candidate for taking out "pie" wedges and filling in these wedges with good bonsai soil.
Best,
Todd

That is a real nice hunk of material. I went out last weekend looking for a summer sale mugo, but I came home w a 12$ rose instead. Have you had luck with the root work on nursery mugos I'm the past?
