Calluna vulgaris 'Scottish Heather'
Found this heather (and a 2nd one) last year at Walmart. It was sickly and marked down to $.50.
The following photos are of the "tree" today. I plan on repotting to a bonsai pot next Spring.
I'm liking the way the underside of the branches are developing. I still need to open it up a little in the middle:
Pruning of Calluna v. should be limited to after the blossoms shatter just at the base of the newest blossoming growth. Additional pruning would be used to re-shape the tree. Wiring is not recommended.
HOT DOG! I figured out how to post photos!
